MEET SOPHIE

Why do I do what I do? It’s simple, I love what I do! Not only do I love what I do, I love how it makes my client’s feel. It is truly rewarding to be able to help people achieve their goals and be a part of their journey to better health.

Since my mid teens, I have had an ever-growing passion for the Health & Fitness industry and have immersed myself in it in every way possible. It has become the driver for my choices and my lifestyle so it made sense for me to pursue a career in the field.
My personal involvement in sports and my passion for movement (of all sorts) has allowed me to lead by example; it has given me a strong understanding of the need for individualised client management, program design and rehabilitation.
My hunger to continually learn and challenge myself has kept me moving forward with the industry and all the new and exciting things we are continuing to discover and learn about.

Outside of this industry, I love the environment, nature and animals. I try to do my part wherever possible to make sustainable choices that are better for our planet and all the creatures on it. This is why Mastering Movement aims to be as eco and animal friendly as possible.

When I’m not in my practice working, you can find me …. In the gym slogging it out and practicing my favourite sport of all time - Muay Thai, playing with my dogs (or anybody else’s dogs… or really any animal for that matter), in the kitchen cooking up a storm or doing something outdoors surrounded by nature. Learning new things excites me, so I’ve tried almost any activity that involves being active or out in nature and am always open to suggestions!

MEET NINA

Nina is a qualified nutritionist with a First-Class Master’s degree in Nutrition and Public Health, a Master’s in Higher Education Teaching, and a Bachelor’s in Health and Wellbeing. Originally from England, she moved to Australia in 2024 after travelling through Southeast Asia and Japan, and now combines her love for nutrition, movement and the outdoors in her work and lifestyle.

With a special interest in women’s health, fuelling for performance, and building positive relationships with food, Nina supports clients in finding a balanced, non-restrictive approach to nutrition. Her method is practical, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual — whether the goal is better energy, improved performance, or lasting confidence around food.

A CrossFit enthusiast and runner, Nina lives and breathes what she teaches. She's also currently studying canine nutrition to extend her work to supporting dogs’ wellbeing (and because she loves dogs that much).

Through her work, Nina aims to help others not only master movement — but master the fuel behind it. She also believes that life isn’t meant to be put on hold. Whether it’s your nutrition, or the way you live day-to-day — it’s about showing up fully now, not waiting for the ‘perfect’ time.

MEET heather

Heather grew up in the countryside of Yorkshire, England where she spent the majority of her childhood horse riding. As a child growing up, Heather always wanted to be a helper of all living beings. She completed her physiotherapy qualification in the UK, graduating in 2015, and went on to study further, specialising in animal physiotherapy.

She has been working in private practice in Australia for the past 5 years and more recently, working with her animal clients too. Heather is equally passionate about helping people manage their pain and move their bodies better through improving functional movement and giving animals the treatment they deserve. She loves treating her equine & canine clients as much as her human ones.

Heather has completed additional training in pilates and dry needling and has worked with various clients, including football teams, sporting injuries, and day-to-day aches and pains.

Since moving to Melbourne, Heather loves to take advantage of the outdoorsy lifestyle and spends her time walking her two dogs, running and doing cross fit. She's also partial to exploring Melbourne's great brunch and coffee scene. This keeps her plenty busy enough but she occasionally still fits in a ride or two in her spare time!

MEET Tina

Our newest edition, Tina will be manning the front desk to allow the rest of the Team to do what they do best…treat clients!

While Tina’s roll in Mastering Movement is purely administrative, she brings with her many years of experience in the Healthcare industry. An “old school” RN trained at the RMH, a remedial massage therapist, and then a midwife for the past 15 years!

Keen to participate in all sports (but finding it more challenging as the years roll on), Tina is now working in the perfect environment to seek the treatment required from these amazing professionals!!

When Tina is not working, you’ll find her training for running events or running around her local track - Patterson River. She loves the outdoors, staying active, watching her children play sports, camping and her pooches. She regularly follows her beloved Brisbane Lions around the country to watch them live in action.

GO EDI-ASP!! GO LIONS!!!

You don’t get the a** you want by sitting on it.

After initially pursuing a career in law, Steph discovered a passion for hands-on work in healthcare, leading to a career shift into allied health. She has recently completed a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance and is looking to progress in this field through further study.

She is excited to welcome in and provide assistance to clients of Mastering Movement as a new receptionist and social media creator. Since having experienced her own injuries and rehabilitation, Steph is passionate about the process of recovery and assisting others.

When Steph is not working, she is playing football at Chelsea Heights (injuring herself), travelling and hiking. She loves the outdoors, especially the beach, painting and trying new things.
